This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was super clean. There was good water pressure in the bathroom, and all the toiletries you can possibly imagine. The hotel provides two ergonomic pillows for each person, and the mattress was quite comfortable. There is a fridge and a kettle in the room. There is a coin laundry available on site. The room seemed well soundproofed as it was quiet and we did not hear other guests, despite the hotel being full. It is quite close to the main train station (5 minute walk) and several bike rental shops as well as a big shopping center with a great food court below.

Excellent location near Kyoto rail station and lots of shops. APA is a national chain with a model of budget self service with lots of amenities provided but with relatively little room staff (e.g. bags full of new towels etc delivered to your door daily but not brought in - though a full clean is done every fourth day). So 4 star amenities in 2 star room. Hence the good value. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly.

Wonderful reception staff. Close to the station. Several convenience stores nearby. Mall just 15 minutes away. Rooms in APA are consistent comfortable and clean. Biggest bonus while travelling is the laundry facilities which helps to reduce the weight of your suitcase (bringing less clothing). Not all hotels have a laundry room and is the reason I have stayed there 3 times and will stay in the future.

Great if you’re just looking for a place to crash at the end of the night. Breakfast is an option. In walking distance of Kyoto Station and plenty of food options in the area. Place was clean and quiet. Staff were helpful and friendly. One word of caution for those that have difficulty with mobility, getting into the bathroom there was a big step up into the space.

The location was excellent, literally out of Kyoto station, cross a street and you get to the hotel in less than 5 minutes. The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Even if you opt not to have your room cleaned one day, the staff still leave clean towels and amenities out for you to use. The ice machine in the lobby was also a bonus for the hot summer days.
